One of the key topics of the XII International Conference “Development Prospects of Big Port Saint-Petersburg” that involved representatives of our company was the digitalization of the industry. Interaction between SP SPb JSC and Freight One JSC was considered as an example of this activity development.
In his report, Vladimir Stafeyev, Commercial Deputy Director, Saint-Petersburg branch of Freight One, highlighted a stable growth of Freight One railcars handling in our port. In particular, delivery of ferrous metal alone increased by 20% in 2018.
The ability of the port to accept increasingly large number of railcars is ensured by both railway infrastructure development and introduction of advanced information technologies contributing to minimization of the negative impact of such factors as irregular loading and unfavorable meteorological conditions, optimization of work taking into consideration the schedule of cargo and vessels arrival as well as arranging regular handling of empty railcars.
– We are ready to meet the demands of our clients for transportation of dry bulk cargo in view of port infrastructure development focused on this segment, – emphasized Vladimir Stafeyev. – The service package includes technological, financial, forwarding and IT products with some of them being unique in the operation market. For example, the Mobile Reporter application based on car sharing principle. A photo of a defective railcar can be sent via the system to a Freight One specialist who will find a fast track to getting the issue resolved.
