In 2008 the operating revenue of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” increased by 18% in comparison with 2007 and amounted to 4.7 bln. rubles.

Balance profit of the group of companies grew by 22% - up to 1.4 bln. rubles. Net profit amounted to over 1 bln. rubles (+24%).

In spite of negative factors of external economic environment especially in the fourth quarter the company successfully closed 2008. Flexible tariff policy, alternation of turnover structure and handling of the most profitable types of cargoes made it possible to increase financial and economic efficiency of the group.

The company proceeds with the implementation of the development programme of port infrastructure. Within the development programme three projects have been successfully implemented.  Measures taken by the groups of companies to decrease the impact of economic crisis are aimed at preservation of personnel and reduction of nonproductive company costs.

Within 12 months of 2008 stevedoring companies of the group “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” handled 11 mln. tons of cargoes. The sum of all taxes and payments transferred during this period amounted to over 1 bln. rubles. Average salary of the employees of the group of companies amounted to over 35 thousand rubles in 2008, average salary of the dockers, main workers of the port amounted to over 40 thousand rubles.
The group of companies JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” includes CJSC “First Stevedoring Company”, CJSC “Second Stevedoring Company”, CJSC “Third Stevedoring company”, CJSC “Fourth Stevedoring Company”, “Universal Handling Facility” in Ust-Luga  and a number of service companies.
