Within the development programme the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” completed the design works of universal covered storage facility with the total storage area of 12.7 thousand square meters on the territory of ro-ro terminal of the First Stevedoring Company.
The group of companies transferred 10 mln. rubles for the design works.
Universal storage facility for cargoes on roll-trailers is to be constructed instead of outdated storage areas for aluminum.
The project envisages the construction of overhead railway and motor vehicle roads and installation of automatic inventory control system which will ensure quick handling of cargoes and make it possible to monitor each stage of the storage process.
The system of mobile partitions will make it possible to transform the storage premises in relation to the measurements of cargoes and required temperature conditions.
According to the preliminary estimations the construction cost of new warehouse will amount to 250 mln. rubles.
Reference: The development programme of port infrastructure envisages the handling operations with more profitable cargoes and increase of the handling capacities of the company up to 20 mln. tons per year by means of construction of specialized handling facilities: container terminal, refrigerated terminal, car terminal and facility for ro-ro cargoes. The programme also includes the use of modern handling techniques and removal of environmentally unfriendly cargoes from Saint-Petersburg.
From the date of its opening in April of 2009 ro-ro terminal on the territory of the First Stevedoring Company with the annual capacity of 1 mln. tons handled 140 thousand tons of cargoes.
Within the period from 2008 to 2009 warehouses Nr. 22, 26 and 27 (CJSC “FSC”) and warehouse Nr. 20 (CJSC “SSC”) were reconstructed and transformed into open storage areas with the annual capacity up to 500 000 tons of general cargoes. The expenses for this reconstruction amounted to 150 mln rubles.
At the moment warehouses Nr. 9, 10 (CJSC “SSC”) are being reconstructed and this reconstruction is to be completed by the end of this year.
The group of companies JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” includes CJSC “First Stevedoring Company”, CJSC “Second Stevedoring Company”, CJSC “Third Stevedoring company”, CJSC “Fourth Stevedoring Company”, “Universal Handling Facility” in Ust-Luga and a number of service companies.
