Specialists of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” accomplished the handling operation of 2 “Sokol” gantry cranes. The cranes were moved from berths Nr. 23 and Nr. 39 of the First Stevedoring Company to the berths Nr. 3-4 of the Universal Handling Facility in Ust-Luga.

Cranes with the lifting capacity of 32 tons suitable for handling of loose, bulk and general cargoes will help to increase efficiency of unloading operations at the terminal.

For 9 months of 2009 Universal Handling Facility handled 0.9 mln. tons of cargoes, the projected performance for 12 months of 2009 – about 1.3 mln. tons.

For the period started in the beginning of 2008 the group of companies transferred over 200 mln. rubles for construction and technical equipment related to the facility infrastructure, including the border check-point at the Russian State Border and purchase of the required equipment.
