“Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred over 1.5 mln. rubles in order to organize summer vacations for the children of its employees.

Over 160 children of the workers of the group of companies have spent their summer vacation in the summer recreation camp “Mayak”. It has become possible due to the social programme of JSC “Sea Port Saint-Petersburg”. Within this programme the employees managed to purchase trip tickets only at 11% from their cost (2000 rubles).

During summer holidays special creative contests, concerts and sport competitions were arranged for the children. In July the representatives of the soccer club “Zenit” organized the contest for the young fans of the legendary team in Mayak.

This year “Mayak” commemorated 55th anniversary. In order to celebrate this holiday the administration of the camp organized concert, circus performance and disco for children.

The group of companies JSC “Sea port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred over 7 mln. rubles in order to prepare the camp for the summer season (children’s, main and administrative blocks were renovated, new furniture was purchased).  Rooms for tennis, pool and ping-pong were reconstructed; new five tennis tables and other sport equipment were purchased. Soccer field was covered by artificial turf.

The group of companies JSC “Sea port of Saint-Petersburg” pays the main part of the cost of the trip tickets during summer or winter school holidays and each employee can use this opportunity regardless of his time record.

Reference: Recreation summer camp “Mayak” is one of the subdivisions of PLC “Baltic Healthcare Company” – one of the service companies of the group of companies JSC “Sea Port Saint-Petersburg”. In 2009 during summer period 2000 children from Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad region spent their vacation in the camp, which is more than in the previous years.

“Mayak” is located on the territory of state wildlife reserve in the picturesque part of the Karelian Isthmus nearby the Gulf of Finland. “Mayak” appeared in 1954 thank to legendary port worker Alexander Kazakevich, who was working as a deputy director for general issues of Leningrad Sea Commercial Port. He managed to find the territory for the camp, receive the approval of the state authorities, start the construction works and create the camp for the children.
