During his visit to Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg on April 15, 2010 President of Association of Sea Ports of Russia, Oleg Terekhov, expressed his high opinion with regard to the level of technical equipment of training center of Marine Recruiting Agency (part of the group of companies Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg).
President of Association of Sea Ports of Russia personally tested unique crane simulator (for STS and RTG) which is the only simulator of such kind in Russia.
Mr. Terekhov noted that this modern computer simulator will make it possible to increase the quality of training of workers performing container handling operations, excluding the necessity to use the actual expensive equipment and hence decreasing the risk of breaking this equipment.
Reference: Crane simulator (cost – 14 mln. Rubles) is equipped by the unique audio and video system and fully imitates the crane operations. Its technical parameters allow training main operations with the cargo under different conditions even in emergency situations.
Practical training according to the certified training programme for the operators of RTG and STS started in this training center of Marine recruiting Agency in October of 2009.
The automatic evaluation system of the crane simulator will make it possible to chose the most professional employees.
This training course gives the opportunity to the trainees to improve the skills related to container handling operations, which increases the speed of handling process and improves the labour efficiency.
