In the 1st half of 2010 the stevedoring companies of the group “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” handled over 5.8 mln. tons of cargoes which is by 10% more than within the same period of 2009.

Stable growth in performance occurred due to the increase of the export cargo volumes- in comparison with January-June of 2009 export cargo flow increased by 16%.

In particular, the handling volumes of mineral fertilizers increased by 62% (up to 247 000 tons), handling volumes of coal increased by 23% (up to 1.7 mln. tons), handling volumes of steel increased by 34% and amounted to 1.4 mln. tons.

 Import cargo flow decreased by 16 %. Within the 1st half there was a reduction of the volumes of general cargoes, in particular reefer cargoes – by 40% (up to 111 thousand tons), containers - by 35% (up to 30 thousand tons). Among handling volumes of loose and bulk cargoes handling volumes of ore decreased by 36% (up to 240 thousand tons).

First Stevedoring Company handled 2.3 mln. tons (+16% in comparison with January-June of 2009); Second Stevedoring Company handled  over 0.9 mln. tons of cargoes, having improved the figures of the prior reporting period by 5%.

Car terminal on the territory of the Third Stevedoring Company handled over 4.6 thousand of import cars (within the same period of 2009 there were no operations at the terminal).

Fourth Stevedoring Company decreased its performance indicators by 21% -up to 1.5 mln. tons of cargoes due to the construction on its territory of the 1st stage of container terminal.
Ro-ro terminal of the “First Stevedoring Company” put into operation in the 2nd quarter of 2009 handled 318 thousand tons of ro-ro cargoes within 6 months of 2010.  “Multipurpose Reloading Complex” in Ust-Luga handled approximately 998 thousand tons of cargoes having increased the handling volumes twice (+135%).
