During the first six months of 2007 the stevedoring companies of the group of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” handled 6056 thousands tons of cargoes. This is by 17% more than during the same period of 2006 due to the increased technological efficiency of handling operations.
“First Stevedoring Company” handled 2593 thousand tons having increased the amount by 1 % in comparison with January - June of 2006; “Second Stevedoring Company” handled 1046 thousand tons with the growth by 13%; “Fourth Stevedoring Company” handled 2162 thousand tons having increased the handling volumes by 67%. Having handled 254 thousand tons in 2006, “Third Stevedoring Company” is the only company that reduced its performance of 2006 by 18 % due to unfavorable market conditions.
During this period bulk and loose cargoes (2291 thousand tons) and packaged cargoes (3022 thousand tons) prevailed in the structure of the turnover.
