In 2012 the turnover of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (“SP SPb”) amounted to 8.7 mln. tons, which is by 18% more than in 2011.

 

Handling volumes of general cargoes increased by 6%, up to 6.9 mln. tons. In particular, 1 mln. tons of ro-ro cargoes were handled at the specialized grounds of “SP SPb”. All in all 65 502 units of wheeled vehicles (+35%), including – 52 543 cars (+11%) were handled in January-December of 2012.

 

Handling volumes of dry bulk cargoes increased twice up to 1.8 mln. tons.

 

Within 12 months of 2012 total volumes of export cargoes increased by 15% up to 6.6 mln. tons, import volumes increased by 24% up to 2.1 mln. tons.

 

Positive changes in the turnover of the company are caused by the optimization of technology of handling operations and by modernization of system of logistic and informational interaction with the clients. Also efficient cooperation with JSC “RZHD” made it possible to prevent problems with railway infrastructure and avoid down time of railcars.
