In the first half of 2017 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) spent 14.8 mln rbls for realization of the ecological programme which is by 2.5% more than in the previous year.

Nearly 50% of funds went for modernization and improvement of water disposal system on the First and the Second cargo areas, as well as for maintenance of ecological facilities. For instance, SPSP is currently making a design of new water treatment facilities.

The funds were also spent for preservation of the port’s water area in the Gulf of Finland. The company carried out works on monitoring of waste waters quality, water treatment and monitored the use of the shore front.

Besides, in the first half of this year the company took atmospheric measurements on the border of sanitary protection zone. Measurement results showed full correspondence of air quality to the target indicators.

Furthermore, in order to comply with sanitary and epidemiological regulations, the company ensured well-timed removal of wastes from the port area.
