In the 1st half of 2015 OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) transferred 10.9 mln Rubles for the implementation of the environmental programme.
Funds were transferred for protection of water area of the Gulf of Finland, air protection, provision of safe handling of wastes and continuous work of environmental facilities of SP SPb.
In particular, the company took measures for protection of water resources including regular monitoring of use of coastal area, treatment and control of waste waters. SP SPb also performed works on maintenance of water disposal system and its modernization.
In order to prevent hazardous exhausts into atmosphere environmental department of the company performed analysis of air samples taken in the area of loading and discharge operations and at the territory adjacent to this area.
SP SPb secured timely removal and disposal of wastes following sanitary and epidemiologic requirements for handling wastes.
