From the beginning of 2018, Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (SP SPb) allocated RUB 413.5 million for implementation of its development programme.

More than 80% of the amount was allocated for the purchase of new equipment. In particular, the port made advance payment for two full-revolving electric portal cranes Vityaz, one of which is already being installed on the berth. The cranes are intended for handling all types of cargo in grab/hook/magnet/spreader/transfer modes.

By the end of the year, the company’s fleet of hoisting and handling equipment will be expanded with 18 new forklift trucks with capacity of 2.5 to 33 tonnes for handling of loose/bulk cargo and 8 rolltrailers of up to 75 tonnes in capacity. Besides, the company has purchased side clamps, beams and spreaders for container handling.

For the modernization of its port infrastructure SP SPb boosted its allocations for retrofit of its water disposal system, improvement of its power system facilities and gate check system. From the beginning of the year, the company has replaced more than 20 kilometers of utility networks.
