In 2016 48.9 mln rbls was directed for implementation of the social programme of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb).

The company’s funds were traditionally spent for the support of workers and their families, training of personnel, financial assistance to children and pensioners – members of SPSP’s veterans organization.

Expenses of the port’s employees for medical services, health resort treatment and sports were compensated by the company. Separate financial aid was rendered to single mothers working in the port, large families and port workers who had found themselves in difficult life situations. During the year the company organized several leisure activities for the personnel - educational excursions to Pskov-Pechora, Staraya Ladoga, Veliky Novgorod, Staraya Russa and Saint-Petersburg palaces, corporate trips to the countryside.

One of the focal points of SPSP’s social policy is rendering support to the honoured port workers and pensioners. All workers who have the title “Veteran of the Seaport”, as well as the people celebrating jubilee dates and active spokespersons of veterans organization received quarterly bonuses, as well as benefits timed to significant state and professional holidays.

For kids, whose parents are working in the Seaport, the company organized entertainment-educational excursions in 2016. In spring children visited Saint-Petersburg Zoo where while playing they learned many interesting facts about its inhabitants. In autumn children together with their parents took part in an exciting boat trip aboard a comfortable motor vessel along the Neva river. All participants of the trip got memorable souvenirs and gifts from the company.

As part of charity support the Seaport traditionally directed funds to the Centre of orphaned children and children without parental support No.8 of Saint-Petersburg Kirov district (formerly orphan home No.10). In 2016 the money was spent for repair of rooms used for homeschooling.

Shortly before the New Year’s Eve children of the employees of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” and children from the orphan home got New Year sweet treats – all in all 507 children.

In 2016, 1026 port workers completed various educational programs, which is 1.5 times more than the last year. Furthermore, career-guidance lessons and practical training were held for schoolchildren and the students of specialized educational institutions.
