In 2018, allocations of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (SP SPb) for implementation of its social programme totaled RUB 54.4 million with over 80% of this amount used to support its employees.

 

SP SPb covered the expenses of its employees for their kid’s holidays in recreation camps, healthcare, sports and travelling. More than 500 port employees and their family members took part in educational tours and corporate events organized by the company. Special events were organized for port employees’ children.

 

Financial support was provided to employees with multi-child families, unwed mothers employed by the port and employees in hard life situations.

 

Employees granted with “Veteran of the Port” title, active members of the port’s veterans organization and those celebrating anniversaries were given quarter bonuses and financial presents to mark significant state and professional holidays. 

 

Personnel education has been traditionally among the priorities of SP SPb. In the reporting period, the company allocated RUB 7 million under different programmes of qualification and competence enhancement. 599 employees, mostly workers, mastered new equipment, studied occupational safety and fire rules. SP SPb has recently finalized the New Leaders programme aimed at management personnel development and mid-tier executives succession pipeline. 

 

One of the key charity activities of SP SPb in 2018 was the support of sports. The company sponsored the Young Athletes Training Center on the basis of the OLIMPIYETS Sport Shooting Club. Its allocations let upgrade the facilities and train children free of charge. SP SPb also provided support to St. Petersburg paralympic team so that it could participate in the Victory Cup dressage, dedicated to the memory of young hero Zina Portnova. For the team, these competitions became preparatory in the run-up to the Russian Paralympic Dressage Championships in Moscow, where the St. Petersburg team won several prizes.
