In 2014 OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) transferred 35.3 mln Rubles for the implementation of the social programmes.
Funds of the company were traditionally transferred for the support of the employees and their families, sport, training of personnel, financial assistance to children and pensioners – members of the Veteran’s organization of the port.
The company reimbursed expenses for medical services, resort treatment, visits to sport establishments, summer vacations for employees and their children. The port rendered assistance to those employees who turned to be in difficult life situations. Assistance was also rendered to single mothers and families with many children. Besides, the workers who were awarded by certificates of gratitude, golden and silver badges for their labour were paid bonuses.
Within the year the company financed sport activities and sport events in which the employees participated. As the result football team was created and it successfully participated in football matches among the transportation companies of Saint-Petersburg.
SP SPb pays special attention to pensioners and workers who were granted the rank of “The Port Veteran”. Annually the company pays them bonuses to the anniversaries and special dates and quarterly bonuses. SP SPb arranges cultural events and meetings where veterans share their experience with young employees.
For children whose parents work in the port the company developed educational programme in 2014. It included excursions to Saint-Petersburg museums and river trips around the city, during which children learned new information about environment and history of the country in form of a play.
SP SPb also transferred funds for renovation of orphanage Nr. 10 of the Kirov district of Saint-Petersburg, which has been supported by the company for over 26 years. The company renewed material and technical base of the orphanage, purchased New Year presents for children. Besides in autumn of this year the port arranged excursion for children to the berths.
In 2014 278 employees of SP SPb were trained, which is 13% more than within the last year. The company arranged professional orientation meetings for pupils, production training for students of the port oriented educational establishments. After graduation the best of the students will be invited to work in the port.
