For 12 months of 2006 the cargo turnover of the group of companies JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” amounted to 11.8 million tons.
“First Stevedoring Company” handled 5 mln 572 thousand tons; “Second Stevedoring Company” – 2 mln 3 th. tons; “Stevedoring Timber Company” – 459 thousand tons; “Intechport” – 52 thousand tons; “Fourth Stevedoring Company” – 3 mln 743 th. tons. The overall cargo turnover of the group decreased by 10% as compared to 2005 due to the reduction of traffic of coal, timber and mineral fertilizers to the port’s address.
According to preliminary information, in 2006 the companies of the group paid 851.3 mln roubles in taxes and dues - 29% more than during the same period of last year. Growth of tax deductions was conditioned by the increase of the number of complex and costly cargo handling operations in the group’s stevedoring companies. The average monthly salary of dockers-mechanics, constituting the majority of port workers, grew by 19% - up to 32 thousand 118 roubles. The total average monthly salary in the group of companies – 26 thousand 152 roubles – is by 21% higher than the figure of the last year.
In 2006 the share of the group JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” in the total cargo turnover of the Greater Port amounted to 22%.
