From the beginning of 2018, Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (SP SPb) has allocated more than RUB 31 million for environment protection (+27%, year-on-year).
The Company’s investments into modernization and maintenance of environmental facilities have been increased by 21%, year-on-year. This year, the port has automated its sewage network, upgraded certain sections of sewer line and installed metering stations at some wastewater outlets.
SP SPb has increased its expenses for environment protection measures by 24%. In particular, it allocated more resources for monitoring of compliance with air quality standards and increased the frequency of measuring air samples taken at the border of the sanitary protection zone.
Besides, a package of measures has been undertaken to protect the Gulf of Finland waters including regular control of the coastal zone and treatment of wastewater.
