On July 3 festive events dedicated to the professional holiday – Day of Workers of Sea and River Fleet took place in OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb).
The representatives of the management of the company awarded the best employees at the official meeting in the administrative building of SP SPb.
This year 116 employees of SP SPb were awarded various business, governmental and corporate decorations and titles. Three employees were awarded silver badges of OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”. Seventy people received honorary certificates and letters of acknowledgment from the Managing Director. Twenty seven workers were awarded governmental and departmental decorations. Sixteen port workers were granted honorary title “Veteran of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”. Besides in honor of holiday the company paid out bonuses to veterans of the port.
After the meeting the management of SP SPb laid flowers to the monument “To Creators and Sailors of Russian Fleet” at the Petrovskaya embankment. The last festive event was the traditional concert in the concert hall “Oktyabrskiy”.
Within festive events from July 1 to 31 the exhibition devoted to technologies of the past “How Porter and Roller Became Machine Operators” is held in the administrative building of SP SPb. Archive photos present equipment of Leningrad Sea Commercial Port of 20-40-ties of 20th century due to which manual labour and related professions were gradually forced out from the berths.
