On the eve of May 9th festival events in which veterans and employees of OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (“SP SPb”) took part were held in the port.

In the management building of “SP SPb” the exhibition “Port during war” was opened. Archival photos depict rough war days in the Leningrad port and people who defended the city.

On the eve of the holiday the representatives of the management and the Veterans’ Council of “SP SPb” laid flowers to the monument devoted to the port defenders near Gutuev Hub, monument to the Baltic Heroes near the Main Gates of the port and to memorial plaques to participants of war. The participants honored memory of the fallen and thanked all the defenders of our Motherland, pointed out their invaluable contribution into Victory. The representatives of the Veterans’ Council remembered the war time, told about the deeds, heroism and dedication of their friends and the loved ones.

All the port veterans – the participants of the Great Patriotic War, war workers and prisoners of the Nazi camps traditionally received festival payments from the company.
