In 2016 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) invested 35 million Roubles in labour safety improvement, which is 8% more than last year.

The greater part of the funds was spent for remuneration of certain specific operations and works in potentially harmful environment in accordance with the Labour Law of the Russian Federation and Collective Agreement of SPSP. In particular, 12.5 million Roubles was spent for additional payments to those engaged in potentially harmful works and operations. 6.7 million Roubles was spent for extra-leaves and over 900 thousand Roubles was paid as compensations for dairy products.

In order to restock personal protection equipment, SPSP purchased work clothing, footwear and other safety gear for the total amount of 7.4 million Roubles in 2016.

Traditionally, our company gives consideration to healthcare issues. In 2016 SPSP’s expenditures for medical examinations and primary medical assistance stations amounted to 6.4 million Roubles.

To follow the provisions of the Law of the Russian Federation, SPSP invested over 620 thousand Roubles into in-process monitoring, training of personnel and supply of informational items related to labour safety.

Besides, according to the Federal Law No. 426 “On specific evaluation of working conditions”, SPSP spent over 400 thousand Roubles to examine the individual work places.

In an effort to ensure life and health safety, SPSP is conducting labour safety briefing every day before any cargo handling operations start.
