In 2016 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) spent 45.6 mln rbls for realization of the ecological programme, which is by 1.8 times more than the previous year.

Such an increase was mainly conditioned by higher expenses of the company for modernization and improvement of water disposal system on the First and the Second cargo areas of the port.

As part of water resources preservation effort the company carried out works on monitoring of natural and waste waters quality, performed technical maintenance of water treatment plant, monitored the use of the shore front.

For the purpose of air protection the company took necessary measurements on the border of sanitary protection zone. Measurement results showed full correspondence of air quality to the target indicators.

Furthermore, in order to comply with sanitary and epidemiological regulations, the company ensured well-timed removal of wastes from the port area.
