45.5 mln Rubles were spent in the 1st quarter of 2016 in the framework of OJSC Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg (SPSP) development programme – 4 times more than during the same period of the previous year.

The largest part of the funds was allocated for modernization of storage capacities of the First and the Second Cargo Areas. These projects will increase the potential throughput capacity of SPSP and the range of handled cargoes.

To increase the intensity of handling of ferrous/non-ferrous metals and to decrease the time for shifting of cargo within the territory of the port, SPSP has purchased the supporting equipment for transportation of these types of cargoes.

Besides, SPSP has reconstructed hot/cold water supply systems, as well as the automated system for electric power fiscal accounting, which will help to cut the company’s expenses.
