In the first half of 2017 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” remitted 255.1 mln roubles to renewal of operational areas, which is a nearly twofold increase as compared to the same period of last year.

The company’s investments in equipment have increased by 58%, in refurbishment of the operational area – by more than 2 times, in renewal of engineering communications – by almost 4 times.

Over 60% of funds were spent for technical re-equipment of the terminals. The main part of them was spent for purchase of forklift trucks, reach stackers, tractors and additional equipment to be used for container service of SPSP. The new equipment will ensure efficient handling of 45, 40 and 20 feet dry and reefer containers with cargoes of all classes of danger (excluding oil products).

The funds were also spent for purchase of grabs and weighing equipment to be used during handling of loose and bulk cargoes, as well as for purchase of the specialized gear for gantry cranes.

Nearly 20% of development programme investments went for renewal of the operational areas. SPSP has modernized the existing ones and carried out works on construction of the new storage areas. These projects will allow the company to enlarge the cargo mix and expand the range of rendered services.

Besides, the company carried out a whole complex of measures aimed at renewal of the port’s water disposal system, improvement of admission system and modernization of energy complex.
