Within the equipment modernization programme JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (JSC “SP SPb”), 2 Liebherr self-propelled rubber-tyred cranes (LHM 600) for handling of bulk and heavy-lift cargoes with the weight up to 140 tons were delivered to the berths of the company.

 

Discharge operation was performed by twin vessel cranes and new equipment was reloaded to the berth 29 of JSC “SPSP”.

 

New cranes will be put into operation after all the required procedures, including commissioning of the equipment and preparation of the documents.  

 

At the present moment personnel for operation and maintenance is being trained. 

 

Putting of new equipment into operation will allow company to increase the intensity of handling of out-of-gauge and general cargoes, including ferrous metals and mineral fertilizers and to attract the cargo flow of heavy-lift (up to 60 tons) slabs.

Lifting capacity of Liebherr mobile port cranes at minimum outreach (25 m) amounts to 140 tons, at maximum outreach (50 m)  –  56 tons. Maximum hoisting height amounts to 45 m.  Crane traveling speed is up to  5 km/hour.
