On May 6, 2008 within the Development Programme of the group of companies JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” handling of the first vessel was performed at the new automobile terminal (annual capacity - 80 thousand cars) on the territory of Third Stevedoring Company. The area of the terminal is 5 Hectares.


The project amounting to 260 mln. rubles will make it possible to transfer to Saint-Petersburg a significant part of cargo traffic now handled by the Finnish ports. This will decrease the time and cost of delivery of the cars to the final consumers and reduce the pressure on truck entry points at the Russian-Finnish Border.


The terminal is equipped with the modern automated control system, which provides the opportunity to issue the documents in real-time mode, to control and optimize the cargo traffic. New facility is equipped with video surveillance and alarm systems, the guard post and the check-point. Power supply system of Third Stevedoring Company has been modernized in order to ensure 24 hours of work.

Reference: In 2007 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” started the implementation of the All-round Development Programme up to 2011. It includes the construction of new facilities, reconstruction of the existing facilities and the development of the transport infrastructure. Total amount of the investments into implementation of this programme will amount to 19 bln. rubles.
CJSC “Stevedoring Timber Company” had been handling round timber till the middle of 2007. The decision to  change the title of this company for CJSC “Third Stevedoring Company” was  made at the meeting of the shareholders on June 22, 2007 due to the change of area of specialization.
