In 2014 OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) arranged practical training for 15 students from the faculty of port equipment of State University of Sea and River Fleet named after admiral Makarov S.O.

Programme of production training made by the specialists of SP SPb in cooperation with the University included   study of port equipment, analysis of handling operations under guidance of qualified specialists. Within this period of time some of the students were fully trained as mechanics of the second class. In 2015 they will continue their training and after graduating from the University the best of them will be invited to work in the port.

“After graduating from the University former students do not usually have enough skills to start to work immediately, – explained Marina Gaidar, specialist on training of Personnel Department of SP SPb, – That’s why and also in order to attract young specialists we introduced system of training on production site. Students will acquire experience and learn how the workshops are arranged from inside. After graduation we will hire them to work in the port and later help them to build up their carriers”.

Apart from practical training for students OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” organizes excursions for children to the territory of the port. This year the company arranged the first excursion for children from orphanage Nr. 10 of Kirov district of Saint-Petersburg, which has been under guidance of SP SPb for 25 years.
