On August 13, 2015 OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) carried out an environmental campaign on cleaning of Putilov embankment of Sea Channel from garbage. This embankment is located at the Kanonerskiy Island opposite the berths of the Second area of the port.
The employees of the company collected about 100 truck tires, large-sized household garbage and over 110 bags with plastic bottles and glass.
“The employees of the company realize the importance of such campaign which makes world around us a little bit cleaner and demonstrates a positive example of care about nature. I am sure that such campaigns will become a good tradition of the company”, – noted Dmitriy Vorobiev, head of PR Department of OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”.
Protection of environment has been the priority area of development of OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” for many years. In the 1st half of 2015 SP SPb transferred 10.9 mln Rubles for the implementation of the environmental programme. Funds were transferred for protection of the port water area of the Gulf of Finland, air protection, safe handling of wastes and continuous operation of environmental facilities of the company.
