In 2008 the group of companies JSC “Sea port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred over 200 mln. rubles for the development of the First and Second cargo areas of the port.

The group of companies transferred 162 mln. rubles for the reconstruction of the covered warehouses for the new specialized terminals. The reconstruction of 7 storage premises will give the opportunity to handle more types of cargoes. Terminal capacities are to be used for handling of all types of Ro-Ro cargoes.

The group of companies entered the contract for design and construction works of the refrigerated terminal on the territory of CJSC “First Stevedoring company” (one of the companies of the group JSC “Sea port of Saint-Petersburg”) (project capacity - 1 mln. tons of reefer cargoes per year). The construction of the terminal will make it possible to decrease the expenses of the key importers of foodstuffs in Saint-Petersburg and North-Western part of Russia and will secure safety of quality and its compliance with the European sanitary norms.

The group of the companies plans to invest 80 mln. rubles into the reconstruction of the facilities of the First and Second cargo areas of the port.

In 2007 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” started the implementation of the All-round Development Programme up to 2011. It includes the construction of the specialized terminals, the reconstruction of berths and the development of transport infrastructure.  Total amount of the investments into implementation of this programme will amount to 19 bln. rubles.
