Starting from the beginning of 2008 the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” invested over 65 mln. rubles into preparatory and design works of the refrigerated terminal on the territory of the First Stevedoring Company.
Two warehouses were demolished (Nr.30, 34) on the berth 17, the bidding for disassembling works of three reefer warehouses on the berth 19 and warehouse Nr. 31 on the berth 18 had been held. Besides, the reconstruction of the berth Nr. 21 is being carried out.
New reefer capacities and open storage area for containers are planned to be built on the territory, where old warehouses were demolished. New reefer capacities will maintain certain temperatures inside (-28C-+14C) which are suitable for storing of different types of cargoes.
Reference: The construction of the refrigerated terminal with the annual design capacity of 1.5 mln tons of cargoes on the territory of CJSC “First Stevedoring Company” (one of the companies of the group JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”) is being carried out within the All-round Development Programme of the group of companies. The construction of the terminal will give the opportunity to decrease the costs of major importers of the food products in Saint-Petersburg and in the North-western part of Russia. It will also ensure the quality level of the food products and their compliance with the European standards.
