The group of companies JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” entered into a contract for the design of a marine container terminal on the territory of the Fourth Stevedoring Company with the international company Royal Haskoning.
Royal Haskoning was chosen as the Main Designer of the new terminal in accordance with the results of the tender held by the JSC “Sea Port Saint-Petersburg” among the major worldwide designers of port facilities. The company designed container terminals for the leading operators in the biggest ports on all continents. According to the conditions of the tender, Royal Haskoning will carry out the designing works together with JSC Lenmorniiproekt, which is known as the leading design institute in the sphere of hydraulic engineering in Russia.

The construction of the container terminal is carried out within “”The programme on development of the group of companies JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”. The volume of investments for this project will amount to 364 mln. $. Design and research works will be started this year. In 2008 new equipment will be ordered and the 1st stage of the terminal construction will be started. The 1st stage of the terminal will be put into operation in 2009. Full projected capacity of the terminal (1400 000 TEU) is planned to be achieved in 2012.
