“Sea port of Saint-Petersburg” purchases the main technological equipment for the first stage of the container terminal on the territory of CJSC “Fourth Stevedoring Company” for the total sum over 1,7 bln. rubles. The company awarded the contract for delivery of the equipment with CJSC “Konecranes” (subdivision of the Finnish crane corporation Konecranes Heavy Lifting).
4 ship-to-shore cranes (STS) and 10 rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTG) will be purchased. The beginning of the delivery of the equipment - 3 quarter of 2009. Putting into operation of the purchased equipment will ensure reaching the projected capacity of the 1 stage of the container terminal in amount of 350 000 TEUs per year.

The construction of the container terminal with the full projected capacity of 1.4 mln. TEUs will be carried out within the all-round programme on development of the group of companies JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” up to 2011. At the present time the engineering investigations and the pre-design works are carried out, the traffic flows nearby terminal are being optimized. The total volume of the investments for this project will exceed 10 bln. rubles.
