In 2006 management of the group “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” transferred 8.8 mln roubles to the employees’ social security funds.
The stevedoring companies spent 86% of the target funds. 19.3% of all the money was spent for cultural events; 19% - for compensation of medical treatment costs; 16% - for rendering of material assistance; 10.1% - for sports clubs tickets; 9.9% - for buying of vacation vouchers; 4.5% - for children rest; 3.5% - for sanatorium-resort treatment and 1.5% - for sports events.
For information: The target funds of the Company were formed pursuant to the project developed by the management of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” and approved at the conferences of the employees. In order to maintain the funds, the Company deducts on a monthly basis the sum equal to 1% of the employees’ payroll fund. The target fund is intended for the social support of the employees. The committees appointed by the employees regulate disbursement of money. The main advantage of the new system lies in transparency of expenditure and availability of the money to all the employees without regard to their membership in trade unions. In former years 1% of salaries of trade union members was remitted to the bank accounts of trade union committees and further disbursed exclusively at the discretion of such committees.
