In March 43 students of faculty of port equipment and electromechanics of State University of Sea and River Fleet named after admiral S.O. Makarov started their training in LLC “Sea Recruiting Agency” (SRA) on the basis of educational programmes “Electrican of Handling Equipment” and “Mechanic of Handling Equipment”.
Training is aimed at students of second and third year and will last for one month. It includes 2 stages- theoretical course and practice at the territory of OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” under the guidance of SRA teachers.
“I support choice of students of our university. Knowledge, skills and experience of blue-collar jobs will always come in useful for future engineers, without all this it is impossible to become top-ranked specialist and leader. Students will understand the atmosphere of cargo port. Besides, the best one will have additional opportunities to start to work in OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”, – commented dean of faculty of evening and distance learning of State University of Sea and River Fleet, Yuriy Ershov.
“We hope that the project on acquiring blue-collar jobs by students of port oriented higher educational establishments” will become permanent. It will allow young specialists to be ready for work after graduation and be competitive at the labour market” - noted head of Training Center of LLC “Sea Recruiting Agency”, Leonid Avlasenko.
In 2014 36 students of the university were trained for professions of “Tallyman” and “Slingsman”. All in all 78 students of higher educational establishments, including College of State University of Sea and River Fleet and Saint-Petersburg Sea Fishing College studied in SRA.
