On September, 10 the first shipment lot of equipment for container terminal (annual capacity – 350 TEU) was discharged on berth Nr. 101 of the Fourth Stevedoring Company (included in the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”).
Two RTG cranes are able to handle 20, 30, 40, 45-feet containers; travelling speed of the crane with load is 130 meters per minute, lifting speed is 30 meters per minute. Cranes manufactured by Konecranes are ones of the best and the most efficient in placing containers for storage.
These cranes were preliminary accepted by the specialists of the group of the companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” at the site in the Polish city – Gdynia. The specialists of the port checked the equipment configuration, the compliance of the equipment technical specifications with the supply agreement and functions of the crane.
The next shipment lot is expected to be delivered next week. Supplies of STS cranes, fork lift-trucks, terminal tractors, reach-stackers and auxiliary equipment will be carried out till the end of 2009.
