Rо-rо terminal on the territory of the First Stevedoring Company (part of the group of companies “Sea Port  of Saint-Petersburg”) handled the “Borden” ferry  of the British shipping line “Mann Lines”.

The ferry delivered crane «Liebherr» from Rotterdam with the weight of 1600 tons. This crane was delivered as disassembled on 24 roll-trailers. Crane will be used for the construction of the stadium of soccer club “Zenit” on the Krestovskiy Island on the territory, where former Kirov stadium was located.

Rо-rо terminal on the territory of the First Stevedoring Company was constructed within the Development programme of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” envisaging the handling operations with more profitable cargoes and increase of the handling capacities of the company up to 20 mln. tons per year by means of construction of specialized handling facilities for handling of all types of cargoes and by means of already implemented projects.

British company Mann Lines – the operator of 4 ferries on the Baltic Sea performs the trades along the following routes: ports of Great Britain-Holland-Germany-Estonia (Tallinn, Paldiski) and the ports of Holland-Germany-Russia (Kaliningrad, Petersburg).

Kirov stadium existed in Saint-Petersburg since 1950—2007 and was one of the biggest stadiums in the world. Initially the capacity of the stadium was 100 000 people. In 1994 the stadium was chosen as the main stadium for Good Will Games and later on it was used for soccer matches, competitions and working-outs.  In 2005 it was decided to pull this facility down. At the moment new stadium is being constructed on this territory and this new facility will become the stadium for domestic matches of soccer club “Zenit” (as it was from 1950 till 1989).
