Employees of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg (SP SPb JSC) and Marine Recruiting Agency (MRA LLC) have held a traditional environmental campaign “Clean Island” to clean up the coastal territory of Kanonersky Island.

The campaign participants picked up rubbish, plastic and glass litter in the garden square at the monument dedicated to the Kanonersky Island warriors, workers and survivor of the siege and partly at the Putilovskaya Embankment where footpaths along the water were tidied and cleared of fallen leaves and twigs. High collaborative spirits were of special assistance during the activities!

Spring clean-ups is a perfect opportunity to improve the neighborhood and to spend quality time with colleagues. The outdoor activities were a great pleasure following which the participants refreshed themselves with some pastry and hot tea.

“Holding environmental campaigns is a long-standing tradition we are happy to keep. At first, the initiative was undertaken by some port employees and now we do not only hold annual clean-ups but also plant trees in the territory. More than a hundred of lime-trees have been planted along the Putilovskaya Embankment already and we are going to continue planting trees in autumn”, said Dmitry Vorobyov, PR Department Director at Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg.
