The third shipment lot for space base Kuru was handled by the terminals of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” within the Intergovernmental  Agreement on long-term cooperation between Russia and France  “…related to the development, manufacturing and use of the rocket vehicles …”, in the presence of diplomatic delegations from both countries.

Kourou Space Centre or Guiana Space Centre is located in French Guiana (South America), 50 kilometres from Cayenne, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Centre is used for orbiting of the geostationary satellites. The interest of Russia toward Kourou Space Centre is related to its equatorial location: it can be used for orbiting of the heavier satellites than those launched from the space centers in Baikonur and Plesetsk.
