OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (“SP SPb”) completed handling of out-of-gauge heavy-lift equipment for  petroleum refining industry sector of Republic of Tatarstan. The shipment lot including 65 units with the total weight of 5660 tons was delivered to Saint-Petersburg from India aboard the vessel called  Jumbo Jubilee. The weight of some of the equipment exceeded 1300 tons.

Discharge of the vessel was carried out within a week by the vessel cranes according to direct variant: from vessel to barge. Tandem cranes were used for handling of especially heavy components-reactors. Specialists of “SP SPb” and logistic company “Universal Forwarder” developed technological plan of handling. In particular, 5 barges were used for discharge of the vessel. Special support structures for lashing of heavy-lifts were mounted aboard the barges by gantry cranes.

Barges were moored one by one by their third board to the vessel Jumbo Jubilee and after loading and customs procedures departed to addressee. The port workers also moored compensator barge to the berth-special fender separating the vessel with heavy-lifts from the berth.

Destination point – Nizhnekamsk city– the cargo departed along water. Delivery operation is planned to be included in Guinness Book of World Records as transportation of such heavy-lifts along rivers were not performed before.
