Specialists of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (“SPSP”) together with the specialists of “Universal Forwarder” performed successfully the operation on handling of heavy-lift equipment with the total weight of 240 tons.

Line transformer with the weight of 150 tons and additional equipment with the weight of 90 tons were reloaded from the berth 23 of JSC “SPSP” to multi-axis rail chain by the floating crane “Demag” suitable for handling of cargoes with the total weight of 350 tons.

After handling operation rail chain with the line three-phase transformer to be operated at Saratovskaya HPP was transported to Balakovo.


Reference: Saratovskay HPP is located on the Volga river near Balakovo. Saratovskoe water reservoir located at the territory of Saratovskaya, Samarskaya and Ulianovskaya regions was created especially for this HPP. Total capacity of water reservoir amounts to 12.8 cubic kilometers. It’s area amounts to 1831 sq. km, maximum width exceeds 25 km, average depth is 7 m. SarGES (Saratovskaya HPP is the seventh stage of Volga-Kamskiy cascade of hydroelectric power stations and is one of the 10 largest  hydroelectric power stations of Russia. On the average Saratovskaya HPP produces about 5.7 bln. kilowatt-hours of electric power. All in all since the beginning of its operation (since 1967) it produced over 230 bln. kilowatt-hours of electric power.

It handles all types of dry cargoes; operates by modern specialized terminals for handling of container, reefer, ro-ro cargoes, cars, metals and coals. “Universal Forwarder” manages cargo loading, unloading and forwarding in the maritime and river ports of the Russian Federation, the CIS countries and Europe, is in charge of multimodal and intermodal traffic, charters maritime and river vessels, provides vessel agenting services in the Azov and Black Seas. The company has a wide branch network throughout Russia.
