On May 27th the specialists of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” completed loading of the heavy equipment lot to be further shipped to Moscow by river transport. Equipment is supplied for the construction of the independent power stations due to the shortage of power in the capital.
The first out of 14 planned handling operations was made from the motor vessel “Ocean Titan” to the river vessel “Volnogorsk”. By means of 2 shipboard cranes the dockers of the First Stevedoring Company loaded 3 sets of gas turbines, among which there were 9 heavy-lifts with the total weight of 1049 tons.
The total volume of the shipment amounted to 218 units of equipment.
Reference: The equipment for the alternative power stations in Moscow will be supplied till the end of 2008.
