German group Volkswagen views the car terminal on the territory of Third Stevedoring Company (part of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”) as the new partner for efficient and high-quality delivery of cars to the Eastern Europe, which will be cheaper in comparison with the Finnish operators.

In September of 2009 while shipping the first trial shipment lot of 100 cars using this terminal the experts of Volkswagen group performed  the expertise inspection of the car terminal on the  on the territory of Third Stevedoring Company with regard to such parameters as “car handling”, “infrastructure”, “personnel qualification”, “safety”. In accordance with the results of this inspection the terminal received 97 scores out of 100 and was rated as “A” class terminal. In their report the inspectors noted especially the car handling procedure: All the rules and procedures related to storage and handling of cars are observed. There are no negative remarks to the clothing and the work of the personnel.

Volkswagen plans to cooperate with the car terminal on the territory of Third Stevedoring Company in 2010.

According to “Guidelines on quality of storage and transportation of new cars” accepted in Volkswagen group “A” class is given to the operator, who receives from 92 to 100 scores for quality of services and envisages the next scheduled inspection in 24 months.  “B” class (82 – 91 scores) envisages the next scheduled inspection in 12 months, “C” class (less than 82 scores) – 1 time per 6 months. Minimum result to pass the inspection is 82 scores.
