On November 19th at 8 a.m. dockers of CJSC “SSC”, who earlier participated in the strike, resumed their work. The administration of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” got official notice on the suspension of the strike by the dockers and workers of mechanization unit.

The workers of CJSC “PerSteCo” resumed their work on the night from Friday to Saturday,  November, 17 from 0.00 o’clock in accordance with the ruling of Saint-Petersburg city court. At the same time the members of the conciliation committee, which stopped its work being not able to resolve the labor dispute, did not turn up to work (excluding one person). Hence the representatives of the conciliation committee of the First Stevedoring Company didn’t fulfill the order of the director of CJSC “PerSteCo” and ignored the resolution of the court. This matter is being investigated.

Actually only in one of three companies - in CJSC “Fourth Stevedoring Company” part of the dockers still continue the strike.

Reference: On November 13th, 2007 the dockers of the First, Second and Fourth Stevedoring companies of the group JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” have started a strike.

Saint-Petersburg city court prohibited the port trade union committee of the dockers and the strike committee of the workers of CJSC “First Stevedoring Company” to continue the strike.

On Friday November, 16th according to the article 413 of Labor Code of Russian Federation the Saint-Petersburg city court passed the ruling to qualify this strike as illegal. Main reason is refusal of workers to perform ratified minimum of obligatory works. The court resolved to stop the strike till December 14th, 2007. In accordance with the current law all illegal strike actions should be immediately terminated.
